5. Clicking on the “START” button will bring up the start
menu window.
6. Click on the “RUN” option. The “RUN” window will
allow you to explore the files and folders on your
laptop.
7. In the “OPEN” text box, enter: “A:\Install.bat”. Click
“OK”. By executing this function, the PODIAG file will
automatically download onto your laptop’s hard drive.
8. Once the program is installed on your laptop, click on
the “MY COMPUTER” icon on the desktop.
9. Click on the “C” drive icon.
10. Double-- click on the folder labeled “PODIAG”. Locate
the MSDOS icon. With the arrow on the MSDOS icon,
use the right--mouse button to create a shortcut.
11. Place the arrow over the recently created shortcut
icon. Cut and paste the icon on your laptop’s desktop.
Connecting the laptop to the EMM
1. Connect the laptop communication cable to the 9--pin
serial port on the laptop.
2. Carefully disconnect the 8--pin harness from the EMM.
Connect the power connect to harness to the 8--pin
harness.
3. Insert the lanyard into the start/stop switch.
4. Locate the EMM--side communication harness inside
the watercraft. Disconnect the ports. Attach the laptop
communication cable to the EMM--side diagnostic
ports.
NOTE: While using the diagnostic software, do not disturb
the connections to the EMM and start/stop switch. Loss of
communication may occur.
