Set Switch State
Changes the administrative state for all ports on the switch. The previous Set
Config Switch settings are restored after a switch reset or a reactivation of a
switch configuration.
Authority Admin session
Syntax set switch state [state]
Keywords [state]
[state] can be one of the following:
online
Activates and prepares the ports to send data. This is the default.
offline
Prevents the ports from receiving signal and accepting a device login.
diagnostics
Prepares the ports for testing and prevents each port from accepting a
device login. When you leave the diagnostics state, the switch automatically
resets.
Notes Enterprise Fabric Suite 2007 and QuickTools will override any temporary
administrative state changes that have been made using the Set Switch
command. Therefore, to avoid unexpected results, do not manage switch
administrative states with Enterprise Fabric Suite 2007 or QuickTools and the CLI
at the same time.
Examples The following is an example of the Set Switch command:

SANbox (admin) #>set switch state offline
