Setting the adjustable breaker
The maximum over current protection (MOCP) for
each chiller is provided on the nameplate. The l1 trip
setting cannot exceed this value.
To set a 250 A breaker for 200 A, complete the follow-
ing steps:
1. Note the ln value.
2. Set l1, the trip setting.
l1 = ln x (0.4 + the sum of the dip
switch settings)
For a 200 A trip setting, set switches 0.08 and 0.32
in the up position. This results in the following
calculation:
l1 = 250 x (0.4 + 0.08 + 0.32) = 200
3. Set t1 switch to 12 s.
4. Set S/l switch to l.
5. Set l3 to 10, which is the sum of all dip switches
in the up position.
There are no requirements for adjusting the other
switches.
