Why is Rem GrainVac VR12 GrainVac surging or pulsing?
    • B
      Brian BakerAug 17, 2025
The GrainVac surges or pulses because it could be starved for air. Increase the air supply to allow enough air for a smooth flow of grain. Another cause could be a plugged hose, so remove any obstructions. Check the end dump double doors to ensure they close completely and securely, and adjust or replace the spring tension if necessary.

What causes excessive material to come out of the exhaust of Rem GrainVac VR12 Construction Equipment?
    • N
      natashapenaAug 20, 2025
An excessive amount of material coming out of the exhaust could be due to several reasons. The drum screen might be damaged, allowing material to pass through. Alternatively, the cast aluminum inlet on the drum/rotor inlet could be damaged or missing, also allowing material to bypass the screen. A damaged rear rotating drum screen bearing could cause premature wear of the cast aluminum inlet. Lastly, if the grain size is smaller than the screen's hole size, adjust the air throttle.

What causes suction problems with Rem GrainVac VR12?
    • R
      Rhonda MeltonAug 28, 2025
Suction problems can occur if the drum is plugged, so remove the inspection door and clean the drum screen with a steel brush or compressed air. Plugged hoses can also cause issues; locate and remove any obstructions. Other causes include a damaged drum/rotor inlet, which requires replacing the cast aluminum inlet, or a damaged lining in the steel flex tube, which needs repair or replacement. Lastly, ensure the body inspection door and auger clean-out door are fully closed to prevent air leaks.

What to do if no material comes out of the end dump double doors and auger of Rem GrainVac VR12?
    • K
      katiebrennanSep 1, 2025
If no material is coming out of the end dump double doors and the end of the auger, it could be that the end dump double doors are not sealing properly, causing air to be sucked back down the auger tube. Ensure the doors open and close freely, and adjust the tension on the spring. Loose or slipping belts or a damaged chain can also be the cause; tighten or replace the belts, and replace any damaged or worn chain. Additionally, the auger might not be turning due to misalignment of the drive dogs; realign the drive dog(s).

Why is Rem Construction Equipment causing grain damage?
    • C
      Christine GuzmanSep 4, 2025
Grain damage can occur for a few reasons. A new machine may need a short break-in period of approximately 5-10 hours for the hard-surfaced augers to become smooth. If the airlock spring tension is too tight, it can also cause damage, so loosen the airlock, though this may diminish capacity. Inherent sensitivity of the grain type or condition can also be a factor, in which case you can try operating at a lower PTO rpm.

What to do if the augers fold extremely slow or the top section will not fold out on Rem GrainVac VR12?
    • T
      Tara DiazSep 8, 2025
If the augers fold extremely slowly or the top section won't fold out, a small foreign object might be obstructing an orifice in the hydraulic system. Ensure hoses are properly pushed into the tractor, check for damaged hose tips and tractor couplers, and clean out any objects lodged in orifice restrictions in hydraulic fittings at the male tips, lower lift cylinder, and control valve. Also, check the tractor flow controls.

What to do if Rem GrainVac VR12 Construction Equipment has suction problems?
    • S
      steelemichealNov 12, 2025
If your Rem Construction Equipment is experiencing suction problems, there could be several causes. First, check all joints in the suction tubes for leaks and readjust or replace any damaged clamps. Ensure the tractor is operating at the correct PTO speed, ideally 1000 rpm, by using a handheld digital tachometer. Verify the steel flex hose is connected correctly, with the arrow indicating the proper airflow direction. Also, inspect and clean the end dumper doors, ensuring they close securely, and adjust or replace the tension spring if needed. Review the operating instructions in Chapter 4 to confirm you're using the correct vacuuming technique. Finally, check for damaged foam rubber seals in the auger joints and replace them if necessary, and ensure belts/chains are correctly aligned and ...

What to do if Rem Construction Equipment is plugging and damaging belts?
    • B
      Brian MarksNov 23, 2025
If your GrainVac is plugging and damaging belts, it could be due to light grain being vacuumed into the body chamber, causing the rotary drum screen to stop. Refer to Section 4.8 for air throttle adjustment instructions. Another cause might be a foreign object lodged in the auger, which requires cleaning out the GrainVac body, removing the object, and replacing the shear pin. Also, a broken gearbox drive chain can cause this issue, requiring you to clean out the GrainVac body, inspect the auger, and replace the chain, oiling it afterward. Bent auger flighting impeding grain flow or damaged foam rubber seals in the auger joints can also contribute, so inspect and repair/replace the flighting or seals as needed. If the shear pin breaks repeatedly due to a malfunctioning gearbox, remove the c...
