2.4.2 Specic information
► Only cold water of drinking water quality may be used to supply the system.
► When supplying with softened water, only use lters for drinking water with > 4° dH total hard-
ness.
► Store components in a dry location.
► The system must not come into contact with chemicals, solvents, or any fumes.
► Before the lter system is put into operation, the consumer unit supplied must be free from limes-
cale.
► No copper pipes or galvanized / nickel-plated pipes or connecting parts may be installed between
the lter system and the consumer unit.
► The lter cartridge must not be opened or mechanically damaged.
► Water that is already microbiologically contaminated or of unknown microbiological quality may
not be used under any circumstances without su󰀩cient disinfection before or after the lter.
► The lter head and the wall bracket must be replaced after 5 years of use / at the latest 6 years
after the production date. This also applies to hoses and seals. Pay attention to the date of the
production stamp.
► All components must be installed in accordance with country-specic guidelines. DIN 1988 must
be observed for the assembly and operation of the system.
► If the system pressure is greater than 8 bar, a pressure reducer must be installed upstream of the
lter system.
► The sensor unit must not be exposed to any mechanical loads. Pay particular attention to the
lever e󰀨ect of hoses and bend radii. If necessary, provide support for supply lines!
► Only use commercially available AA batteries (2 x) for the sensor unit.
► Ensure that the battery cover of the sensor unit is properly closed. Otherwise, foreign objects or
moisture could penetrate.
2.5 Authorized persons
Installationandmaintenanceoftheltersystemsmayonlybecarriedoutbytrainedandauthorizedper-
sonnel�
Operation and maintenance of the equipment may only be performed by trained personnel�
Anyrepairsnotdescribedintheseoperatinginstructionsmayonlybeperformedbyaqualiedelectrician.
2.6 Disclaimer
Renfert GmbH shall be absolved from all claims for damages or warranty if:
► The product is employed for any purposes other than those specied in the operating instruc-
tions.
► The product is altered in any way other than those alterations described in the operating instruc-
tions.
► The product is not repaired by an authorized dealer or if original Renfert spare parts are not used.
► The product continues to be used despite obvious safety defects or damage.
► The product is subjected to mechanical impact or is dropped.
► The product is installed incorrectly or not used as specied in the operating instructions.
3 General description
With the POWER steamer water softener, the carbonate hardness of the water for the POWER steamer 2
isreducedintheowprocessusingion-selectiveltermedia.Thereductionofhardnesscanbeadapted
tothequalityofthelocaldrinkingwaterviatheblendingunitinthelterhead.
Inaddition,theltermaterialbindsheavymetalionssuchascopperandcadmium.
Theintegratedactivatedcarbonblockreducesunwantedturbidity,organicimpurities,aromas,andavor-
ingsaswellaschlorineresidueintheltrateandintheblendedwater.
