Visual alignment
Drive the interferometer
towards the retroreector.
Stop if the beam drifts
past the edge of the
target shutter�
Adjust the pitch and yaw
so that the beam hits the
centre of the target�
Drive the interferometer
towards the laser�
Use the tripod/tripod stage
to translate the beam back
to the centre of the target�
Ensure the laser beam is
on the centre of the target
along the axis�
Repeat until the two beams remain in the centre of the target over the full length of the axis travel, and signal strength stays in the green when the XL laser shutter is rotated to the open position.
