Non-feed jam (manual)
When feeding manually from the bypass tray, the
paper fed but the registration sensor cannot
detect the leading edge of the paper.
The paper did not feed from the bypass tray; so
do the procedures below. Also, check inside the
printer and the bypass tray for paper. If you find
paper inside the printer or in the tray, remove it,
and then press the [Paper Feed] key.
1. Paper cannot be loaded manually for feeding.
2. Paper that does not meet specifications was
used.
3. Damage.
1. Feed paper by hand.
2. Use only paper that meets specifications.
3. Repair (ST) or replace (NRC).
(1) After setting the paper by hand, release it but
do not press the [Paper Feed] key. In this
case, continue to hold the paper until the
paper feeds, while simultaneously pressing
the [Paper Feed] key.
The printer does not have a "pickup" mechanism to
grab the paper; the operator must continue to hold
the paper until it feeds in order for the paper to
feed.
Feed paper by hand.
(2) Check the type and condition of the paper,
then do the following procedures.
Use only paper that meets specifications
(including restrictions).
2-1 Make sure that thick paper (163 g/m
2
) is not
being used (feeding such thick paper is very
difficult). To start paper feed, press the [Paper
Feed] key while continuing to hold the paper.
Feed roller slippage. Use only paper of weight up to 163 g/m
2
.
Feed paper by hand.
2-2 Do not use curled (less than 2 mm) or
wrinkled paper, especially with used paper. If
the curl or wrinkling cannot be removed before
printing, replace with new paper.
Curled or wrinkled paper has jammed on the guide
plate.
Try to flatten curls, wrinkles, or replace paper.
2-3 Check the paper and if it is coated, make sure
it meets specifications for coated paper. Use
only coated paper that is recommended for
use with this printer.
Feed roller slippage. Switch to recommended paper.
