3-1 Operation impaired by other causes. 1. Registration sensor damaged.
2. Drive gears damaged.
3. Harness disconnected, damaged.
4. Control board malfunction.
5. DC relay board abnormal.
6. Encoder sheet dirty.
7. Carriage shaft, bushings not clean.
8. Carriage pressure roller of the timing belt is not
clean.
9. Carriage encoder sensor is damaged.
10. Charge roller is dirty, scarred, or damaged.
1. Replace registration sensor (NRC).
2. Replace drive gears (ST).
3. Check harness, replace (NRC).
4. Replace control board (NRC).
5. Replace DC relay board (NRC).
6. Clean the encoder sheet (ST).
7. Clean the carriage shaft, bushings
(ST).
8. Clean or replace the pressure roller
of the carriage drive belt (ST).
9. Replace the carriage encoder sensor
(NRC).
10. Clean the charge roller (ST) or
replace it (NRC).
8.1.12 PAPER MISFEED – INITIAL JAM AT POWER ON

Initial jam occurred (trailing edge sensor)
When the printer is switched on, or at the first
operation after jam removal, the trailing edge
sensor switches on.
you find paper inside the printer, remove it, and
then press the [Paper Feed] key.
1. Paper feed clutch lock is open.
2. After the jam occurred, the [Paper Feed] key
was pressed without removing the jam.
3. Damage.
1. Remove the jammed paper, restart the job.
3. Repair (ST) or replace (NRC).
(1) Determine if the jam occurred at power on or
the job.
Paper feed clutch lock is open. Remove the jam, restart the print job.
(2) Check inside the printer for paper that has
stopped in the printer.
After the jam occurred, the [Paper Feed] key was
pressed without removing the jam.
Confirm whether paper has stopped inside the
printer.
