Removing a Card
Note:
If you need to remove any cables please make a note of the orientation BEFORE
removal.
Toolbox: Pozidriv no. 1 screwdriver
1. Remove the cover (see page 43).
2. Disconnect any cables connected to the card making a quick
sketch of their orientation and where they plug into. You can
then refer to the sketch if you need to refit the card.
3. Unscrew the single screw on the card mounting bracket and put
the screw in a safe place.
4. Holding the card by the upper edge or corners, gently pull the
card up, rocking the card from side to side if necessary.
5. Remove the card from the computer and put it in a safe place
(preferably in an anti-static bag or container).
6. Replace the metal blanking plate which was removed when the
card was fitted and screw it into place.
7. Replace any cables you disconnected earlier.
8. Replace the cover of the computer (see page 44) and reconnect
your system as shown on the “Setting Up Your New Computer”
card.
