1.1.3. Front fender system (FFS)
The Front Fender System consists of 4 elastomer buffers developed especially for this application.
These buffers contribute to protect the fairings in case of a crash from damage (according to the
crash tests prescribed by CIK – FIA).
The CIK front bumper supplied with the vehicle (not fitted) is not mandatory in many countries. If it
is mandatory in your country, mount it on the vehicle or contact your authorized ROTAX distributor
or one of their Service Centers.
For assembly proceed as follows:
¨ Removing the front fender by removal of
the 4 plugs.
Note: Pull jerkily at the front fender in the
area of the plugs. This loosens the
plugs and they can be removed
manually or with a screw driver.
¨ Unscrew the 4 elastomer buffers with a long
Allen key (size 6 mm).
¨ Remove the front fender.
¨ Fit CIK- front bumper on the frame tubes (Pos. 1) and push them down until the fixation
brackets (Pos. 3) touch the elastomer buffer supports.
¨ Fix the CIK- front bumper on the frame brackets (Pos. 2) with the screws supplied with it.
¨ Mount front fender and elastomer buffers.
