If the clip (4) is at „position 1“ of the jet needle, the air/fuel mixture is slightly
leaner (less fuel) at medium load (in the area from 1/8 to 3/4 throttle opening).
If the clip (4) is at „position 3“ of the jet needle, the air/fuel mixture is slightly
richer (more fuel at medium load (in the area from 1/8 to 3/4 throttle opening).
Note: As in karting normally throttle is either fully closed or fully open a change of the
position of the jet needle has no significant influence on engine behaviour.
Note: Below the carburetor inlet there is a fuel sieve (pos.32) to prevent contamination
entering the carburetor which would affect the carburetor function.
Attention: The fuel sieve (pos.32) must be checked periodically for contamination and be
cleaned if necessary.
¨ Remove hex. screw (pos.34) and sealing ring (pos.33).
¨ Withdraw fuel sieve (pos.32) and clean carburetor inlet from contamination.
¨ Fit fuel sieve (pos.32), sealing ring (pos.33) and hex. screw (pos.34).
¨ Install carburetor in vertical position and tighten the two hose clamps at carburetor socket
and silencer socket.
¨ Connect fuel hose at carburetor inlet.
Note: When now starting the engine it takes some seconds until the fuel pump has filled
the float chamber and the engine starts.
Note: With the adjustment screw (pos.36) the idle r.p.m. of the engine can be adjusted. If
the adjustment screw (pos.36) is turned in, the idle r.p.m. increases. If the
adjustment screw (36) is turned out, the idel r.p.m. decreases.
Note: With the adjustment screw (pos.31) the fuel/air mixture for idling can be adjusted. If
the adjustment screw (pos.32) is turned in, the air/fuel mixture becomes richer
(more fuel) at idle r.p.m. If the adjustment screw (pos.31) is turned out, the air/fuel
mixture becomes leaner (less fuel).
