•t, The MF/AF function works in CAMERA mode only.
•t, In most situations, it isbetter to use the automatic focus feature, as it enabies you to concentrate onthe creative side of your recording.
•t, ManuaI focusing may be necessary under certain conditionsthat make automaticfocusing inadequate.
Auto Focusing
4. If you are inexperienced with camcorders,we recommend that you make use of the Auto Focus mode.
Manual Focusing
_, In the following cases you could obtain better results by adjustingthe focus manually.
a. A picture containingseveral objects, some dose to the camcorder,others further away.
b, A person enveloped in fog or surrounded by snow.
c. Very shiny or glossy surfaces like a car,
d. Peopleor objects moving constantlyor quickly such as an athlete or crowd.
1. Set power switch to CAMERA mode.
2. Press MF/AF( I1_) button.
3. Turn MF DIAL (MENU DIAL) up or down until the object is focused.
• Zoom out a Iittle if focusing is difficult.

4. To return to AF(Aato Focus), press the MF/AF button again.
