Introduction
4.5 Blocked device
Check all equipment inside the Biowelder
®
TC device continuously for
operational reliability. In addition, monitor every step during a sequence. If
equipment such as a drive or the heating gives out, or the execution of a
step in a sequence fails, then an error is present. Such a fault leads to a
blocked device. When the device is blocked,
all on-going processes are stopped and the operator control displays this
message: “All runs blocked (X)”
A blocked device is present if the operator control displays the following
text: “All runs blocked (X)”
If a sequence of a process cannot be finished for some reason, this does not
necessarily indicate a defective device. It could be that the user has chosen
a wrong type of tube, for example.
A blocked device does NOT necessarily contain a defective component.
It is possible that a sequence could not be completed successfully.
If there is a blocked device because of a failed sequence, in most cases the
device can be reversed. In such a case the blockage can usually be resolved
by switching the device on and off.
If there is no equipment defect, in most cases a blockage in the
Biowelder
®
TC can be remedied by switching it off and then switching it on
again.
If there is an equipment defect, the device must be repaired. In this case,
contact your Sartorius Stedim Biotech Service Representative.
Before you contact your Sartorius Stedim Biotech Service Representative,
describe the fault in detail and save the “All” log to the SD card as
described in Chapter 6.2.10 Log. Send these files together with the fault
description to your Sartorius Stedim Biotech Service Representative.
4.6 Cleaning instruction
Before cleaning the Biowelder
®
TC the cleaning cover for the temperature
sensor must be installed.
Before cleaning the cleaning agent must be tested on compatibility with
the respective materials.
The Biowelder
®
TC may not be cleaned with a spray- or steam procedure.
Spray- or steam cleaning can cause a reduced life time of single
components or lead to damage of single components.
The manufacturer disclaims any liability if components are damaged by
improper cleaning or in the case of non-observance of the cleaning
instructions or when persons are being injured by not observing the proper
cleaning instructions.
