Send those materials that are no longer needed to recy-
cling. All tools, tubing, and packaging should be sorted
and disposed of according to responsible environmental

Appropriate Use
The machine is produced according to the relevant European
Union machine guidelines
• Themachineisconstructedsolelytobeusedwiththe
giventoolsandaccessoriesfortheprocessingofwood.
• The machine is constructed for single shift use. The
lengthofoperationissixhoursto40%.
• Allsafetyandhazardinstructionsonthemachineareto
be followed.

bekeptinalegiblecondition.
• Whenthemachineisusedinaclosedroomitmustbe
connected to a dust collection unit.
• Adustcollectingunitistobeusedtocollectsawdustor
woodchips.Theintakeowofthecollectingunitmust
be20m/s.Negativepressure1200Pa.
• Forworkinacommercialsettingadustminimisermust
be used.
• Dustcollectingunitsordustminimizingunitsshouldnot
be turned off or removed when the machine is running.
• Usethismachineonlywhenitisinatechnicallyperfect
condition as well as according to all relevant regulations
ofappropriateuse,safetyandinjuryawareness,aswell
asfollowingallinstructionsforuse.Inparticular,those
difcultieswhichinuencethesafeoperationofthema-
chine must be immediately dealt with!
• Themanufacturer’ssafety,workandmaintenanceguide-
lines as well as the technical data regarding measure-
ments must be adhered to.
• The appropriate measures for avoiding accidents and
other generally recognized safety rules must also be ad-
hered to.
• Themachinemayonlybeused,maintainedorrepaired
byexperiencedpersonswhounderstandthemachineand
areinformedaboutthehazards.Independentchangesin
themachinevoidthemanufacturer’sguaranteeandex-
clude the manufacturer from damage which results.
• Themachinemayonlybeusedwithoriginalpartsand
original tools from the manufacturer.
• Anyuseaboveandbeyondthisisnotappropriatetothe
machine.Themanufacturerdoesnottakeanyresponsi-
bility for damage resulting there from; any and all risks
arebornebytheoperator.
m Residual Risks
The machine is built according to the current technical stand-
ards and the recognized safety technical rules. Still several
residual risks remain which can result when the machine is
operated.
• Dangerofinjurytongersandhandsduetotherotating
planingdeviceshouldmaterialsbeintroducedintothe
machineinaninexpertmanner.
• Dangerduetomaterialswhicharethrownoffofthema-
chineduetoinexpertfasteningorintroductionintothe
machine,aswellasworkwithoutaprotectiveguard.
• Healthhazardsduetosawdustorwoodshavings.
• Personalprotectivegearsuchasgogglesoradustmask
must be worn. Use a dust collecting unit.
• Health hazardsdue to noise. Whenthe machine isin
operationthenoiseexceedsthepermittednoiselevels.
Personalprotectiondevicessuchashearingprotection
should be worn.
• Dangerduetoelectricalcurrentshouldanonregulation
electrical connection be used.
• The machine should be used only on selected wood,
without defects such as knots, lateral cracks, surface
cracks. Defective wood becomes a risk factor in machine
use.
• Forthisreason,inspiteofhavingattendedtoallprotec-
tive measures there may be residual risks which are not
evident.
• Residual risks can be minimized when the safety in-
structionsandappropriateuseaswellastheoperating
instructions are followed.
Transportation
Fortransportationorstorageofthemitreboxsawthesaw
headmustalwaysbexedinthelowestposition:
• Usetheblockinglever(4)andpushthesawhead(1)as
far down as it will go
• Bypressingthe safetypeg(2)lockthesawhead(g.
3)
Blocking the saw head (fig. 3)
Warning: To avoid injury and damage to the saw, transport
or store the mitre box saw with the saw head all the way
down. Never use the safety peg to hold the saw head in a
downward position.
