Why won't my Sea-doo Boat engine start?

  If your Sea-doo Boat engine won't start, several factors could be the cause. It could be due to a discharged battery or bad connections, so check the battery's charge and the battery posts. Other potential causes include a burnt 20 A fuse (check the fuse), no power at the VCM (check for battery voltage on VCM wire connector pin 6-G), a bad ground (check for continuity with ground on VCM wire connector pin 6-D), no power at MPEM (check voltage on MPEM wire connector pin 3-26), a defective DESS post (check DESS post), or a defective VCM (replace it).

  If you hear one long beep when installing the safety lanyard on your Sea-Doo Boat's watercraft post, it could be due to a few reasons. First, ensure the safety lanyard cap is correctly reinstalled over the post. It's possible there's a bad DESS system connection. Also, verify you're using the correct safety lanyard that has been programmed for your watercraft. If the issue persists, try using another programmed safety lanyard, as the one you're using might be defective. Dried salt water in the safety lanyard cap can also cause this issue; clean the cap to remove any salt water. If none of these steps resolve the problem, the DESS post may be defective, and you should consult an authorized Sea-Doo dealer.
