For CDB650-204: Connection cable 1:1 (female connector, M12, 17-pin, A-coded/male
connector, M12, 17-pin, A-coded)
For CDM420-0006: Adapter cable (female connector, M12, 17-pin, A-coded / male con‐
nector, D-Sub-HD, 15-pin)
8
Cable (male connector, TNC reverse/male connector, TNC reverse)
Procedure:
1. Connect the communication interface (e.g., Ethernet) of the device directly to the
PC using the suitable cable 6.
2. Connect external antennas (maximum 4, e.g. RFA630-000) to the antenna inputs
of the device by means of suitable connecting cables 8. At least one external
antenna is required!
3. Connect "Power/Serial Data/CAN/I/0" connection (male connector, M12, 17-pin,
A-coded) to the corresponding female connector on the connection module using
the suitable cable 7.
4. If necessary, connect a read cycle trigger sensor, such as a photoelectric retro-
reflective sensor, to the “Sens/IN 1” (CDB650-204) or “Sensor 1”
(CDM420-0006) digital switching input of the connection module. For
CDB650-204: see "Wiring digital switching inputs “Sensor 1” and “Sensor 2” of
the device in the CDB650-204", page 109. For CDM420-0006 see "Wiring digital
switching inputs “Sensor 1” and “Sensor 2” of the device in the CDM420-0006",
page 122.
5. Supply the device with required voltage depending on the length of the connecting
cable 7. see "Supply voltage", page 63.
After successful initialization, the “Device Ready” LED lights up green.
6. Turn on the PC and start Windows.
