5 Mounting
5.1 Overview of mounting procedure
RFU630-131xx (with integrated antenna):
The procedure for mounting the device and external antennas is divided into the follow‐
ing steps:
1. Select a suitable mounting location for the device and, if applicable, external
antennas.
The mounting location and position depend on the following factors:
°
Identification task
°
Working range of the device (see "Read range", page 19) and working ranges
of the external antennas
°
Transponder used
°
Environmental influences
2. Mount the device at the intended reading point.
3. Preliminarily align the device to the object with transponder. Make sure that there
is a suitable distance to the object.
4. Depending on the identification task, mount additional external antenna(s) if nec‐
essary. Also preliminarily align these to the object.
5. If required, mount the trigger sensor for object-specific triggering.
After the electrical installation is complete and while adjusting the device parameters to
suit the application:
6. Finely align the device and, if applicable, external antennas to the object and
adjust them.
7. Test for successful reading and writing of the device in operational use of the
application.
RFU630-041xx (without integrated antenna):
The procedure for mounting the device and external antennas is divided into the follow‐
ing steps:
1. Select a suitable mounting location for the device and external antennas.
The mounting location and position depend on the following factors:
°
Identification task
°
Working ranges of the external antennas
°
Transponder used
°
Environmental influences
2. Depending on the selected cable lengths for the external antennas, mount the
device in the vicinity of the intended reading location.
3. Depending on the identification task, mount additional external antenna(s).
4. Preliminarily align the object to the transponder. Make sure that there is a suitable
distance to the object.
5. If required, mount the read-cycle sensor for object-specific triggering.
After the electrical installation is complete and while adjusting the device parameters to
suit the application:
6. Finely align the external antennas to the object and adjust them.
7. Test for successful reading and writing of the device in operational use of the
application.
