Faulty or no connect message frame - no
data transfer between the IO controller
and the interface module (IO device),
although the device is physically connect-
ed to the switch.
Causes:
• Incorrect device name
• Configuration error
• Programming error
• The IO controller is disconnected,
defective or the bus cable to the con-
troller is missing.
• The backplane bus is not functional.
• Check the interface module.
• Check the configuration and parameter
settings.
• Check the device name.
• Assign a valid device name to the inter-
face module.
• Check the IO controller
• Check to see if the backplane bus has
been configured correctly (all modules
inserted, terminating resistor installed)
The IO device is not connected to a switch.
• Establish a connection to the IO control-
ler (via a switch).
• Assign a valid device name to the inter-
face module.
• Check the bus configuration.
• Check that the bus connector is correctly
inserted.
• Check whether the bus cable to the IO
controller is interrupted.
The configured structure of the ET 200M
does not match the actual structure of the
ET 200M.
• Check the structure of the ET 200M,
whether a module is missing or defec-
tive, or whether an unconfigured mod-
ule has been inserted.
• Check the configuration (using STEP 7,
for example), and correct the parameter
assignment errors.
• There is an error in an I/O module, or
the interface module is defective.
Diagnostics data available
• Replace the interface module, or get in
touch with your Siemens contact part-
ner.
• Remove error, e.g. wire break
A new SIMATIC Micro Memory Card is
currently being formatted.
• Wait until the formatting sequence is
complete. This may take several
minutes. If the LED behavior changes,
the formatting process is complete.
