2.1.1 Introduction
Introduction
The following simple example shows you how to commission the ET 200M step by step.
• Installing and wiring the ET 200M
• Configuring with STEP 7
• Linking to the User Program
• Switching on the ET 200M
• Evaluating the diagnostics:
– Encoder supply short circuit after M on the digital input module
– Short circuit after L+ on the digital output module
Requirements
• You have configured an S7 station, consisting of a power supply module and a DP master
(e.g. CPU 315-2 DP). For this example a CPU 315-2 DP is used as the DP master. You can of
course use any other DP master (standard IEC 61784-1:2002 Ed1 CP 3/1).
• The current STEP 7 version is fully installed on your programming device (PD). There may
be restrictions if using older versions of STEP 7. You have experience with STEP 7.
• The PD is connected to the DP master.
