Network extension
For a standard PROFIBUS-PA cable (cable type A as per PNO), the maximum
length of the trunk and spur lines is as follows given maximum power consumption
from the DP/PA coupler:
560 m for the DP/PA coupler (6ES7 157-0AC80-0XA0)
920 m for the DP/PA coupler Ex [i] (6ES7 157-0AD81-0XA0)
Note
Longer cables are possible if the overall power consumption of the PA field
devices is low and if they are distributed.
