Setting Up the FM 351
In this chapter we would like to show in a few steps how you can set up the
FM 351.
To obtain a better overview, the procedure Set-up is subdivided into a num-
ber of small steps. In this first section you install the FM 351 in your S7-300
and wire the external peripheral components.
Step What Must Be Done?
1 Installing the FM 351
Insert the module in one of the slots 4 to 11.
2 Wiring the FM 351
Wire the FM 351:
Digital inputs to the peripheral interface.
Digital outputs to the peripheral interface.
Encoder connections.
Power supply to the FM 351.
3 Checking the limit switches relevant for safety
Check for the correct function of:
The limit switches.
The emergency stop device.
4 Peripheral plugs
The peripheral plug must be latched in.
5 Check the shielding of the separate cables.
6 Switch on the power supply
Switch the CPU to the STOP state (safe state).
Switch on the 24 V supply for the FM 351.
