3. Configure your DP master system with the associated PROFIBUS DP devices.
4. Connect the PROFINET interface X1 of the IE/PB LINK HA to the PROFINET interfaces X1 of
both R/H-CPUs.
Result: You have configured the IE/PB LINK HA with the DP master system connected and
assigned it to both R/H-CPUs of the redundant system.
Only use system redundancy S2
Operate the IE/PB LINK HA only as an S2 device, as configured in the default setting. The "S1
device" operating mode is not supported by the IE/PB
LINK HA and results in a configuration
compiling error in STEP 7.
Since the IE/PB LINK HA behaves like an S2 device, you can also operate the IE/PB LINK HA
behind a Y-switch as an S2 device. You can find more information in the Configuration of
PROFINET rings with R1 devices and Y-switch with S2 devices (Page 158) section.
Setting the watchdog factor
With simulated PROFINET devices, you need to set the watchdog factor in addition
independently of the IE/PB LINK HA.

Loading configuration to the devices
The configuration of the IE/PB LINK HA and the connected PROFIBUS DP devices must be
loaded directly into the IE/PB LINK HA.
Follow these steps to activate the direct download of the configuration at the IE/PB LINK HA:
1. Select the IE/PB LINK HA in the network view.
2. Navigate in the inspector window to "General > Gateway".
3. In the "Gateway" area, select the "Network gateway as PROFINET IO proxy/S7-1500R/H (local
download required)" option.
When you start the loading process, only the configuration of the IE/PB LINK HA with the
connected DP master system is loaded. You must load the configuration of the S7-1500R/H
system separately.
Alternatively, you can load both configurations with only one load instruction. Follow these
steps:
1. Select the IE/PB LINK HA and the S7-1500R/H system in the network view.
2. In the toolbar, click on "Download to device".
Result: STEP 7 loads the configuration of the IE/PB LINK HA and the R/H system into the
devices one after the other.
