6.3.3 Configuration with communications processors on Industrial Ethernet
Introduction
The following configuration shows the redundant S7-1500R/H system with communications
processors on Industrial Ethernet.
Advantages/benefits
You can extend the redundant S7-1500R/H system by an interface for Industrial Ethernet via
CP 1543-1 communications processors. You can connect an engineering station to the
interface, for example.
Advantages:
• Monitoring via IT network management tools (SNMP)
• Protection through advanced security functions, such as access protection using a firewall,
protection against data manipulation using VPN
• Simple alerting by email and transfer of production data to a master computer using FTP
