Power Button
The device can be switched on or off with the power button.
Power Management
The Power Management of a modern PC can regulate the consumption of energy
of the most important components of the computer (e.g. monitor, hard disk and
CPU) individually, while the current active operations will not be affected. This
function is particularly important for portable computers.
PROFIBUS
Bus system based on the PROFIBUS standard. Components of the SIMATIC S5
and S7 series (programming devices, programmable logic controllers,
programmable control systems, distributed I/Os) can be networked using
PROFIBUS.
Programmable Logic Controller System
The programmable logic controllers (PLC) of the SIMATIC S5 system consist of
one or more CPUs and various I/O modules. The PLCs of the SIMATIC S7 system
(for example, S7-200, S7-300, S7-400) consist of one or more CPUs and various
I/O modules.
Programmable Controller (AS)
This programmable controller (PLC) consists of the central unit, a CPU and of
diverse I/O modules.

R
RAID
Redundant Array of Independent Disks. A method of saving data, by which the
data with error correction codes (e. g. parity bits) are saved on at least two
different hard disk drives in order to increase performance and error tolerance. The
hard disk array is controlled by management programs and a hard disk controller
to correct errors. RAID is mostly used on network servers.
