SPEED PRIORITY AF
The Speed Priority AF enables faster autofocus by freezing the LCD
monitor while focusing.
Normal AF mode can be switched to Speed Priority AF mode by
selecting [
Capture Settings] (P. 28 ) ă [Speed Priority AF] ă
[On].
CAUTION !!
x As the LCD monitor freazes while the the camera is autofocusing, a still
image will be dispayed when the shutter button is pressed halfway until
the AF is finished.
z To return to normal AF mode, select [
Capture Settings]ᲢP. 2 8 Უă
[Speed Priority AF] ă[Off].
MANUAL FOCUS
In situations where autofocus or focus lock is not effective, you can
focus manually.

Set the focus mode to MF mode by
pressing
button several times.
( icon and “the scale bar” will be
displayed on the color LCD monitor).

Turn the Focus ring until you get a clear
sharp image.
z The green bar which appears on both sides of the meter
on the scale bar shows the depth of field. If you select
larger apertures, the depth of field will be shallower
(area in focus is narrower) and if you select smaller
apertures, the depth of field will be greater (area in focus
is wider).
