Sewing basics

Sewing corners
Stop the sewing machine when you reach a corner.
Lower the needle into the fabric by moving the needle to the low-
est position with the up/down button (3).
Lift the two-step presser foot lever (22).
Use the needle as a pivot and turn the fabric 90°.
Lower the two-step presser foot lever (22) and continue sewing.

Sewing thin fabrics
When sewing thin fabrics, the stitching may become misaligned
or the fabric may not be fed correctly.
Use stabiliser material
under the fabric and sew it together
with the fabric.
Remove excess stabiliser material when you have finished sew-
ing.

Sewing stretch fabrics
Baste
the pieces of fabric together, and then sew without
stretching the fabric.
