The most common communication method to this type of system is the IEC61162-1 NMEA ports,
these use an isolated input RS422 diferential method. The IEC61162-1 standard requires 4800
baud, 8 databits, 1 stop bit and no handshake. The system also supports faster communications
as specied in the IEC61162-2 standard using 38400 baudrate. If this standard is to be used the
output requires a common connection available on J2 pin 11 or pin 12.
It is also possible to run the system at 115200 baud, although there is no standard to support this.

In addition, this unit supports the LAN UDP standard (IEC61162-450)
