1.2 General Safety Warnings
Signal Word Work Area Safety
NOTICE Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
NOTICE
Make sure that there is sufcient space around the machine in order that you can work comfortably and
that the machine can fully extend to its traveling paths. Also keep sufcient clearance to possibly nearby
positioned machines.
NOTICE Please imperatively make sure that the supply lines are long enough and will not be clamped anywhere.
NOTICE
Keep children and bystanders at a distance while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose
control and can result in accidents.
NOTICE
The emergency stop switch has to be easily accessible at all times. Otherwise, the machine can possibly not
be turned off in case of an emergency.

When using accessories please always make sure to have the additional operating instructions of the corre-
sponding products and check, if the parts are compatible to the STEPCRAFT CNC system and to the control
before using them for the rst time.

The CNC gantry milling system is only to be used in a technically perfect condition which is to be ensured
prior to each operation.

Maintain the power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any
other conditions that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before
use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.

Develop a periodic maintenance schedule for your tool. When cleaning a tool, be careful not to disassemble
any portion of the tool since internal wires may be misplaced or pinched or safety guard return springs may
be improperly mounted. Certain cleaning agents such as gasoline, carbon tetrachloride, ammonia, etc. may
damage the surface.

Have your power tool serviced by a qualied repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
