Toolpath
A track of material extruded from the FDM tip onto either the foundation, or a
previous layer, controlled to a specific width.
Toolpath Width Compensation
Offset of the center of a road so as to compensate for its width, such that the edge
of the road, not its center, lies at the desired position. Analogous to cutter offset in
machining.
Unix
A multi-user operating system for workstations and other types of computers.
Unload Filament Button
This button allows the user to remove filament from the head. It is located on the
keypad.
Watlow (FDM Tip Temperature Control)
The Watlow control panels labelled “Model” and “Support.” They show the
temperature of the FDM
tips in degrees Celsius. They can also be used to adjust
the tip temperatures.
X-Y-Z Controller
This panel contains all basic functions required to use the FDM hardware. It is
located directly above the front door.
Z-Axis Button
This button allows the user to use the Manual Directional Move buttons to move
the table along the Z axis.
