Sanding the Model
Use sandpaper to remove small bits of material without changing the part's
dimensional tolerances. Use 320 grit sandpaper to give the part a smooth surface.

Polishing With D-Limolene
Use a melting chemical such as D-Limolene, to further smooth the part surface.
1) Use a cotton swab or foam swab in the finger of a cotton glove.
2) Dip the swab into the D-Limolene.
3) Remove excess chemical by dabbing on paper towel.
4) Apply chemical in a smooth, circular motion.
5) Use a dry swab to soak up excess chemical and help smooth model.
Finishing Wax With Patch-Eze
®
and Master Extra Soft Utility Red Wax
Gaps in the wax model must be filled before the model can be shelled. Stratasys
recommends using Patch-Eze
red patch wax to fill small gaps.
Patch-Eze is tacky and should not be used as a general filler. This is
because casters rinse the model with a citrus based solvent. This
solvent might dissolve the Patch-Eze.
Patch-Eze can be softened further by dipping it into water.
1) Put some Patch-Eze on a small spatula.
2) Dip the spatula into warm water to allow the Patch-Eze to soften.
3) Apply the Patch-Eze to the model.
4) Smooth and press the Patch-Eze into place.
