4.6 Recommended Safety Distances Between Portable and Mobile HF Telecommunications Devices and the
FLUID SAFE Fluid Management System
Recommended Safety Distances Between Portable and Mobile HF Telecommunications Devices and the FLUID SAFE Fluid
Management System
The FLUID SAFE Fluid Management System is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment where HF interference
quantities are controlled. The user/operator of the FLUID SAFE Fluid Management Systems can contribute to lowering
electromagnetic emissions by complying with the minimum distance between portable and mobile HF telecommunications
devices (transmitters) and the FLUID SAFE Fluid Management System - depending on the output power of the communication
device listed below.
Rated output of the
transmitter [W]
Safety distance based on the transmitting frequency [m]
150 kHz to 80 MHz
d = 1.2 P
80 MHz to 800 MHz
d = 1.2 P
800 MHz to 2.5 GHz
d = 2.3 P
0,01 0,12 0,12 0,23
0,1 0,38 0,38 0,73
1 1,2 1,2 2,3
10 3,8 3,8 7,3
100 12 12 23
The safety distance d in meters [m] for transmitters with a max. rated output not listed in the table above can be calculated
by applying the corresponding formula in the respective column. P is the max. rated output of the transmitter in watts [W] as
specified by the transmitter manufacturer.
Note 1: The higher frequency range applies at 80 MHz and 800 MHz.
Note 2: These guidelines are probably not realizable in all cases. The distribution and spread of electromagnetic quantities
differs depending on the absorption and reflection of buildings, objects, and people.
