7 Function Test
The function test must be performed prior to each surgical procedure.
Sterilize reusable instruments and tubing before surgery to prevent infections.
Check all the single-use/disposable items before removing them from the
package to ensure that the packaging is intact and that the expiration date is still
valid.
For your own safety and that of your patient, use only original accessories.
7.1 Preparing the Function Test
1. Close the equipotential line at the pump unit and check to make sure that this
line glides freely through the support plate and is clamped below the support
plate.
2. Connect the power cable to the device and check that the cable hangs down
freely without touching the weighing system.
3. Check the connection of the data line between pump unit and display unit.
4. Check to make sure that no articles or objects have been placed on the pump
unit.
5. Check to make sure the fluid bags meet the listed specifications (chapter 2.1
Dangers and Risks, page 3, chapter 3.1 Device-inherent Dangers, page 6) and
are suspended properly.
6. Connect outflow tube with the hysteroscope, the apron, and the catchment
system (container).
7. Check to make sure that the containers are closes and suspended freely in the
holder.
8. Check the rollers of the roller wheels to make sure they move easily and
smoothly.
Inserting tube set into pump unit (See Fig. 5-5 Inserting the tube set, page 20, Fig. 5-6 Position the roller tube,
page 20)
1. Insert the unpressurized pressure chamber carefully into the pump head (nose
up) until you can hear it snap into place. A properly inserted pressure chamber is
flush with the pump head. Make sure the membranes are not damaged.
2. Place roller tube (1) around the roller wheel.
3. Tighten tube until tube fastener (2) is firmly snapped into place in the pump
head.
4. Insert tap spike into the fluid bag.
5. Check to make sure all tube connections are free of mechanical stresses and
are routed without snagging.
6. Checking the User Menu
7. Check the settings in the user menu P01...P05 (see chapter 5.13
Launching/Configuring the User Menu, page 28).
Starting the device 1. Use the ON/OFF key to turn the pump unit on.
2. Connect the hysteroscope.
3. Press the Start/Stop key. Start/Stop LED is lit. The roller wheel starts to turn.
Wait until tube system and instrument are completely filled with fluid.
4. Press the Start/Stop key. The roller wheel stops. Start/Stop LED is no longer lit.
