Term Explanation
Balancing Measurement and calculation of the fluid volume
Uterine cavity Uterus=Womb
Deficit Deficit amount the volume of fluid that (for different reasons) is lost by the system during
balancing.
Embolism Sudden capillary blockage due to embolus
Endoscope Endoscopic instrument featuring optical system
Exx Error code with index number.
Flow rate Quantity (in ml) of irrigation fluid flowing through tube set per minute.
Hyponatremia A low concentration (< 130 mmol/l) of sodium in the blood.
Hysteroscope Endoscope to look inside the uterus
Intrauterine pressure Pression in uterine cavity
Contamination Contamination, pollution of rooms, water, foods, objects, or persons due to microorganisms
or radioactive materials, biological poisons or chemical agents.
Contraindication Contraindication: circumstances (e.g., age, pregnancy, certain illness, medication)
prohibiting the use of an otherwise indicated measure (contrary to an indication).
OP mode Operating mode of the device during surgery, i.e., the device is "running."
The other modes are: user mode ->P01 – P05, service mode-> L01 – L0...
Outflow Fluids (secretion volume) that go in the container and consequently on the scale
Purisol Electrolyte-free rinsing solution made of 27.0 g Sorbitol (ol = sugar alcohol) and 5.4 g
mannite (Hexit sugar, also a sugar alcohol) to a liter (other components: water, sodium
hydroxide and hydrochloric acid)
SAL Meas. unit for sterility
Saline Isotonic saline solution, i.e., one liter (l) contains 9.0 grams of sodium chloride. Other
components: Water for injections.
