Troubleshooting
NOTE
After repairing the trouble, clear the DTC using SDS tool. Refer to “DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code)
Deleting (AN400A/ZAK9)” (Page 4E-25).
Possible Cause
• Faulty regulator/rectifier
• Faulty ABS control unit
• Faulty wire harness, etc.

1 1) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2) Open the front box and remove the battery cover. Refer
to “Battery Removal and Installation” in Section 1J in
related manual.
3) Measure the voltage between the (+) and (–) battery
terminals using the multi-circuit tester.

(A): 09900–25008 (Multi circuit tester set)

12.0 V and more
Is the voltage over 12 V?
Go to Step 2. Charge or replace the
battery.
2 1) Start the engine at 5 000 r/min with the dimmer switch
set to HI.
2) Measure the voltage between the (+) and (–) battery
terminals.

Regulated voltage
14.0 – 15.5 V at 5 000 r/min
Is the voltage 14.0 – 15.5 V?
Go to Step 3. Inspect the regulator/
rectifier. Refer to
