Inside the Smear Table
1. Micro tube holder – Samples requiring Manual (micro) sampling are place in here for
aspiration
2. Smear drier unit – Dries smear following spreading process
3. Slide glass shift unit - Responsible for moving the slide to the dispensing/smear position
and then on to the smear drier unit
4. Smear unit – prepares the smear by adjusting the angle and speed of the spreader to one
of eight levels according to the Hct.
5. Blood dispensing unit – Once the sample has been mixed and aspirated the blood
dispensing unit delivers the appropriate amount of blood on to the slide located and at the
dispensing/smear position.
6. Slide removal unit – Removes slides from the slide towers and delivers it to the slide glass
shift unit.
7. Printer – Prints information required on frosted end of slide according to settings.
8. Drying unit – Fan dries slide after printing.
