Maintenance
There are two types of shutdown that need to be performed on the SP-series analyzer,
• Shutdown 1 should be performed at least every 24hrs if analyzer continuously in use, six
days a week.
• Shutdown 2 Should be performed once a week on the day that shutdown 1 is not
performed.

To perform either shutdown procedure ensure that the analyzer status displays ready. NOTE: If
analyzer is on a tracked system please ensure analyzer is isolated so that no further work is sent
to the SP-series analyzer.
Shutdown 1 (Daily)
Ensure analyzer status is READY. From main menu select the [Shutdown] to open the shutdown
menu. Select the either [Shutdown1 (Daily)]. The corresponding shutdown confirmation screen will
appear. Ensure that all cassette and methanol requirements are fulfilled.
• 12 Slide cassettes in supply table
• 400ml of methanol
• 2ml of CellClean in the sample rack in front of the aspiration position
Place 2mls of CellClean into a blank sample
tube with cap on, Place tube in position 10 of
sample rack on left hand side of sampler unit
and align with mark.
