Function key options
Some functions are not permitted in some countries.
The features below can be assigned to the
top key and the function keys when the
radio is programmed. If you do not know
which features have been programmed for
your radio, contact your radio provider or
system administrator.

Function Description
audible tones Turns audible indicators on and off. See "Changing the
audible tone settings" on page 89.
backlighting Turns backlighting on. Backlighting will turn off after a
programmed period. See "Activating backlighting" on
page 91.
call queuing Turns call queuing on and off. See "Call queuing" on
page 53.
clear Clears the last request to the trunking system.

contrast
adjustment
Allows you to adjust the display contrast. See "Adjusting
the display contrast" on page 92.
do not disturb Turns do-not-disturb mode on and off. See "Placing the
radio in do-not-disturb mode" on page 78.
DTMF mode Turns DTMF overdialing mode on and off. See "DTMF
mode calls" on page 71.
dynamic power
control
Turns dynamic power control on, so that the radio trans-
mits at low power in a strong signal-strength area. See
"Dynamic power control" on page 95.
