Making an emergency call
In an emergency, you can summon help by sending an emergency
call to a predetermined location, usually your dispatcher. The
emergency call takes precedence over other call types, and
existing calls on the network are cleared down so that the
emergency call can proceed.
If you receive an emergency call, the display includes an
E to
indicate the call is an emergency call.
To make an emergency call from your radio, you may be able to
either:
■ use the channel selector, or
■ dial the emergency call using the keypad.
Using the channel selector
■ Change the channel selector to the required position and press
the PTT key or .
Dialing an emergency call
This feature is available for radios with an alphanumeric keypad
only.
To dial an emergency call:
■ Dial *9. Press the PTT key, or .
To send an emergency call to another radio:
■ Dial *9*nn, where nn is the number of the radio you are call-
ing. Press the PTT key, or .
