PABX and PSTN calls
Your radio may be programmed so that it can make calls to a
private automatic branch exchange (PABX) extension or a public
switched telephone network (PSTN) number. PABX and PSTN calls
can be assigned to the channel selector or a function key.
When you receive a PABX call, the display reads
PABX. When you
receive a call from a PSTN number, the display reads
PHONE.
Dialing a PABX number
This feature is available for radios with an alphanumeric keypad
only.
To make a call to a PABX extension:
1 Dial code number, where code is the code specified by your
fleet manager and number is the PABX extension you wish to
call.
2 Press the PTT key, or .
For example, to make a call to PABX extension 8909 when the
code is 3, dial 38909, then press the PTT key, or .
Dialing a PSTN number
This feature is available for radios with an alphanumeric keypad
only.
To make a call to a PSTN number:
1 Dial code number, where code is the code specified by your
fleet manager, and number is the PSTN number you wish to
call.
