Technical Reference Manual
The Tandy 1000 has a 90-key keyboard that includes
12
function
keys,
a
numeric keypad, and special purpose keys for paging. The keyboard
is
con-
nected
to
the Main Unit by a coiled cable and operated
at
a maximum distance
of
4 feet from the main unit. Figure 23 shows the interconnecting cable con-
nector to the keyboard assembly. The cable assembly can be disconnected
from the keyboard assembly during repair.

Keyboard Specifications
The keyboard
is
fully encoded with microprocessor control, and requires + 5
VDC
supplied from the Main Unit.

keys generate
"make"
and
"break"
codes.

Code Chart. Break codes are formed by adding

to the make code.
Keys 49 and

have alternate action that
"makes"
on one actuation
of
the key and
"breaks"
on
succeeding actuation. No code
is
generated for
these two keys when the key
is
released.
