PROCEDURES FOR TURNING OFF THE
COMPUTER
There are a few guidelines you should observe when you turn your
computer off
0
Save
(store) your files on diskette or fixed disk before you
turn off the power to your computer. Everything in the
random access memory
(RAM)
will be lost,
so
do a file
save before you set the system unit power switch to off.

Do
not turn off the computer if either of the disk drive
activity indicators is on.
0
Do
not turn the computer off while
a
diskette is installed
in the diskette drive.
The procedure for turning off your computer is given below:
1.
Return to the
DOS
prompt
(A>
or
C>).
2.
Make sure both disk drive activity indicators are off.
3.
If a diskette is installed, open the door
of
the diskette
drive and remove the diskette.
4.
Turn off the power switch at the rear
of
the system unit.
5.
Turn off the video monitor.
6.
Turn off any other system components.
