Controls, Connectors,
and
Indicators
Introduction
The following descriptions are intended
to
familiarize the operator with the
location and function of the instrument's controls, connectors, and indicators.
All continuously variable controls, except FOCUS, TRACE ROTATION,
ASTIGMATISM,
and SCALE ILLUMINATION have fine resolution for a portion of
their rotation after each
reversal. Continued rotation
in
the same direction gives
progressively coarser resolution.

Adjusts the brightness of the waveform.
Limits the CRT
deflection both vertically and horizontally
to
within the graticule. Display intensity
is
not affected
by the BEAM

Adjusts the CRT writing beam for optimum
display
definition.
Aligns the no-signal trace with the horizontal graticule
lines. Relocating
the instrument
to
a different magnetic
ambient may
result
in
slight misalignment of the trace
and
graticule, indicating a need to readjust the TRACE
ROTATION control, using a screwdriver.
Adjusts the intensity
of
the CRT readout display and
either
enables
or
disables the display
of
scale factors.
Digital measurements, Save/Recall readouts, the "50

Trigger
(CTT) menu, and the available Television/Video
(TV) function indicators are always enabled.
