The supports simplify the measuring operation,
especially when gauging very wide distances.
– Fit the clamps (16) and introduce the measuring
arms (17).
– Set the measuring arms as shown in Fig. 13 to
bring the instrument into the most favourable
position.
6 USE OF THE SUPPORTS
– If necessary, steel cylinders can be placed on the
workpiece, and the measuring arms supported
on these to decrease friction while setting to
length.
