Note : Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 allow service
applications to interact with the desktop. You may access the Smart-Vue
applications using their icons in the application tray in the lower
right-hand corner of the desktop ( ). You therefore do not need to use
the Smart-Vue Control Center application on Windows XP and Windows
Server 2003.
1.3 Services To check the status of service applications running on your Smart-Vue
Server computer:
1. Right-click on My Computer (on your desktop)
2. Click on Manage ==> Services and Applications ==> Services
3. For normal operation, the following Smart-Vue services must be
started and running as services:
• SVuServer
• SVuAMS
• emul_<receiver name>
By default, these services are configured to restart automatically when
your computer boots, ensuring reliable intervention-free operation.
1.3.1 MySQL
Installed with Smart-Vue Server, MySQL is an open-source database that
runs as a service on the server computer. MySQL is configured to run on
port 33006 in order to coexist transparently with other MySQL engines
(if installed), which generally use port 3306.
