2.2.1.1 Digital sensor overview Digital sensors have several advantages over analog sensors, including:
• Digital signals are completely “clean”, similarly to comparing music
CDs to vinyl disks
• Signals may be transmitted over greater distances without loss
• No need to compensate for cable length
• No need to calibrate the complete sensor chain, just the sensor itself
