6.2 SOFTWARE PC (ThySetter)
The ThySetter software allows the following operations to be performed:
- opening and storing setting files;
- exporting reports in AS
CII or excel formats;
- communication opening and closing;
- reading and change settings (thresholds, timers,output relays setup and operating mode,....);
- firmware upgrading;
- session level and log enabling;
- on-line help;
- reading the information concerning to the input quantities and the last trips;
- setting communication parameters (Modbus Slave);
- setting date and time;
- starting the relay test routines;
- sending breaker commands;
- setting default (Option)
- resetting trips, cumulative currents, event counters and L
EDs;
ThySetter installation
The minimum requirement are:
- Pentium PC or equivalent;
- 128 Mb RAM;
- Windows OS (version 98 or later).
Installation is aided by the automated procedure.
Use of the ThySetter
This chapter offers a description of the main commands; further information may be obtained from
the program’s help menu.
After the program starts, the screen below is displayed
Two main operating modes are available:
- ON-LIN
E MODE (with the protection relay connected to the serial port),
- FILE OPERATION MODE (building the settings file without connection to the protection relay).
ON-LINE MODE
It is necessary to make the connection by means of the Communication/Open command; the cor-
responding screen is shown with the following menu option buttons:
- Device allowing, by means of a drop-down menu, selection of the SIF5600 (version without display)
or SIF5600MMI (version with display) devices
- Protocol
for setting the communication parameter commands in relation to the Personal Computer
(Port, baud rate, parity,..). This button becomes active after a connected device is selected.
- Reading which allows operating the connection.
- Exit to terminate the session
Progress of the connection stage is indicated by the bar; completion is shown by displaying the type
of relay connected in the left hand part of the screen (in this case it is the SIF5600MMI relay); it is
possible to expand the menu view to your liking by using the usual Windows commands.
