Note:Ensurethatthespacerbracketsandwearblocks
(Figure36)areinstalledwiththecarriageboltheads
positionedinsidethemachine.

1.Ensurethattheliftcylindersarefullyretracted.
2.Carefullysetthebedontothevehicleframealigning
therearbedpivotplateholeswiththeholesinthe
rearframechannelandinstall2clevispinsandlynch
pins(
Figure36).
3.Withthebedlowered,secureeachcylinderrodend,
totheappropriateslotsinthebedmountingplates
withaclevispinandlynchpin.Inserttheclevispin
fromoutsideofthebedwiththelynchpintoward
theoutside(
Figure36).Therearslotsareforafull
bedinstallationandfrontslotsarefora2/3bed
installation.
Note:Theenginemayneedtobestartedtoextend
orretractthecylindersforalignmentwiththeholes.

Note:Theunusedslotcanbepluggedwithabolt
andnuttopreventassemblyerrors.
4.Starttheengineandengagethehydraulicliftlever
toraisethebed.Releasetheliftleverandturnoff
theengine.Installthebedsafetysupporttoprevent
accidentalloweringofthebed.RefertoUsingthe
BedSafetySupport.
5.Installthelynchpinstotheinsideendsoftheclevis
pins.
Note:Iftheautomatictailgatereleasehasbeen
installedonthebed,ensurethatthefrontdumplink
rodhasbeenplacedontheinsideoftheleftside
clevispinbeforethelynchpinisinstalled.
JackingtheVehicle
DANGER
Avehicleonajackmaybeunstableandslipoffof
thejack,injuringanyonebeneathit.
Donotstartthevehiclewhilethevehicleisona
jack.
Alwaysremovethekeyfromtheswitchbefore
gettingoffofthevehicle.
Blockthetireswhenthevehicleisonajack.
Donotstarttheenginewhilethevehicleisonajack,
becausetheenginevibrationorwheelmovement
couldcausethevehicletoslipoffofthejack.
Donotworkunderthevehiclewithoutjackstands
supportingit.Thevehiclecouldslipoffajack,
injuringanyonebeneathit.
Whenjackingupthefrontofthevehicle,always
placea2x4block(orsimilarmaterial)betweenthe
jackandthevehicleframe.
Thejackingpointatthefrontofthevehicleisunder
thefrontcenterframesupport(
Figure37)andatthe
rearitisundertheaxle(Figure38).
