1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,stopthe
engine,engagetheparkingbrake,andremovethekey
fromtheignitionswitch.
2.Removethehood;refertoRemovingtheHood(page
38).
3.Locatethe2loosewiresnexttothespeedometer
(Figure83).

1.Starttheengineandrunituntiltheengineisatnormal
operatingtemperature(approximately5–10minutes).
2.Ensurethatthethrottleissettoslowidleandcheck
thetachometertoseeiftheenginerunningat1100
rpm(lowidle).
Note:Iftheslow-engineidlespeedis1100rpm,skip
toAdjustingtheFastIdlefortheEngine(page54).
3.Iftheenginelow-idlerpmisfasterorslower
than1100rpm,rotatetheidlescrewclockwiseor
counterclockwiseatthethrottlebodyfortheengine
untiltheengineidlespeedis1100rpm(Figure84).
Note:Thefanmustnotrunwhilesettingtheengine
idlespeed.
