1.DisengagethePTOandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Lifttheblackrubbercoveronthenegativecable,and
disconnectthenegativebatterycablefromthenegative
(-)batteryterminal(Figure38).
4.Slidetheredterminalbootoffthepositive(red)battery
terminal,andremovethepositive(red)batterycable
(Figure38).
5.Removethebatteryhold-downplate(Figure38)and
removethebattery.
InstallingtheBattery
1.Placethebatteryontothemachine(Figure38).
2.Securethebatterywiththehold-downplate,j-bolts,
andlocknuts.
3.Installthepositive(red)batterycabletopositive(+)
batteryterminalwithanut,awasher,andabolt(Figure
38).
4.Slidetherubbercoveroverthepost.
5.Theninstallthenegativebatterycableandgroundwire
tothenegative(-)batteryterminalwithanut,awasher,
andabolt(Figure38).
6.Slidetherubbercoveroverthepost.
