bladesifyoumoveorreleasetherightsidemotioncontrol
leverintotheneutrallockposition.
Thehourmeterhassymbolstonotifytheuserwhenthe
interlockcomponentisinthecorrectposition.Whenthe
componentisinthecorrectposition,atrianglewilllight
upinthecorrespondingsquare.

Testthesafetyinterlocksystembeforeyouusethemachine
eachtime.
Note:Ifthesafetysystemdoesnotoperateasdescribed
below,haveanAuthorizedServiceDealerrepairthesafety
systemimmediately.
1.Starttheengine;refertoStartingandStoppingthe
EngineinStartingandStoppingtheEngine(page18).
2.Settheparkingbrake.
3.Movetherightsidemotioncontrollevertothecenter,
un-lockedposition.Thebladesshouldnotrotate.
4.Movethemotioncontrolleversforward.Theengine
shouldkill.
5.Starttheengineandreleasetheparkingbrake.
6.Movetherightsidemotioncontrollevertothecenter,
un-lockedposition.
7.Continueholdingtherightsidemotioncontrolleverin
thecenter,un-lockedpositionandpullupontheblade
controlswitch(PTO)andrelease.Theclutchshould
engageandthemowerbladesbeginrotating.
8.Moveorreleasetherightsidemotioncontrolleverinto
theneutrallockposition.Thebladesshouldstop
rotatingandtheenginecontinuestorun.
9.Pushthebladecontrolswitchdownandmovethe
rightsidemotioncontrollevertothecenter,un-locked
position.
10.Continueholdingtherightsidemotioncontrolleverin
thecenter,un-lockedpositionandpullupontheblade
controlswitch(PTO)andrelease.Theclutchshould
engageandthemowerbladesbeginrotating.
11.Pushthebladecontrolswitch(PTO)downtotheoff
position.Thebladesshouldstoprotating.
12.Withtheenginerunning,pullupthebladecontrol
switch(PTO)andreleasewithoutholdingrightside
motioncontrollevertothecenter,un-lockedposition.
Thebladesshouldnotrotate.
WARNING
Theoperatorplatformisheavyandmaycause
injurywhenloweringandraisingtheoperator
platform.Theplatformmaysuddenlydropifnot
supportedwhenthelatchpinispulledout.
Donotputhandsorngersintheplatform
pivotareawhenloweringorraisingtheoperator
platform.
Makesuretheplatformissupportedwhenthe
latchpinispulledout.
Makesurethelatchsecurestheplatformwhen
foldingitintheupposition.Pushittightagainst
thecushionforthelatchpintolockintoplace.
Keepbystandersawaywhenraisingorlowering
theplatform.
OperatingthePlatform
Themachinecanbeusedwiththeplatformintheupordown
position.Itistheoperator'spreferenceonwhichposition
touse.
OperatingtheMachinewiththe
PlatformUp
Operatingthemachinewiththeplatformupisrecommended
when:
Mowingneardrop-off's
Mowingsmallareaswherethemachineistoolong
Areaswithlowoverhangingbranchesorobstacles
Loadingthemachinefortransport
Drivingupslopes
Toraisetheplatform,pullthebackoftheplatformupsothe
latchpinandknoblockitintoplace.Pushittightagainstthe
cushionforthelatchpintolockintoplace.
OperatingtheMachinewiththe
PlatformDown
Operatingthemachinewiththeplatformdownis
